About My Connections:Reid's of the Northern Avalon and Beyond
Please sign in to see more.

It is my hope to trace my Paternal Roots back 'cross the water.

I am uncertain of our exact British lineage and have lost our connection in the early 1800's. To the best of my present knowledge, it seems we were settled in Lower Island Cove, Newfoundland by then and began to spread our Roots.
My particular line of Reid ancestors made a home for themselves in Cape Breton, NS. It is there that the Acadian and Scottish lines enter into my tree. Both giving us a rich and well documented, diverse, historical connection to the early settlement of the Maritimes.

Where were our Reid's before Lower Island Cove, CB, Newfoundland? What is the name of the town our original Reid anscestors called home before coming here, to the New World? These are a few of the questions I hope to answer.

I am desperately trying to fill in some of the spaces and I look forward to information sharing. Please do not hesitate to contact me with anything helpful, or request access for your own research.

Thanks in Advance.

Just a note to my family who will be assisting in administration of this site with me....

Please forgive me if I have some names/dates mixed up. Please help me amend any mistakes I have made and most importantly help me to fill in the blanks.

I look forward to making our branches complete.

Cheers

Special thanks goes to Lorne H. for his helpful assistance and gentle guidance. He has really made me put bellows to the fire and my gratitude is immeasurable. As well many thanks to Rossie F. for helping me link some generations and for being so meticulous with her note taking. Many, Many Thanks to both of you.

A very Special Thanks to Lucie LeBlanc Cosentino, Jean Doris LeBlanc(Cheticamp) and Trish LeBlanc for the incredible amount of Information sharing while researching my Acadian heritage through the LeBlanc and Muise Families.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
